John T. Englebright

John T. Englebright, 93 of Pekin passed away at 8:30 am, Monday, September 16, 2013 at Pekin Estates. John was born July 31, 1920 in White County, Illinois to Victor and Grace (Duckworth) Englebright.He married Mary Livingood July 6, 1953 in Holly Springs, MS. She passed away May 16, 1996. He also was preceded in death by his, parents, one sister and four brothers. He is survived by two sons, Danny Englebright of Pekin and Robert Englebright of Flushing New York; two daughters, Tomi (Mark) Pfanz of Pekin and Bert (Scott)Haynes of Princeville; six grandchildren, Chris (Brook) Pfanz, Ashley Walls, Ryan (Stephanie) Englebright, Brett Englebright, Austin (Tara) Walls, Cory Pfanz; two step grandchildren, Kyle (Christine) Haynes and Matt Haynes; and five great grandchildren. John was a material handler for Caterpillar retiring March 31, 1981 after thirty one years of service. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Roy L. King VFW Post #1232, Pekin Moose Lodge #916, and Caterpillar Retires. He was an avid Cub Fan and enjoyed fishing.One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren playing in their sport events. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Glendale Memorial Gardens with Military Honors from the United States Navy and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.Rev. Daniel J. Bishop will officiate.Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 18 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin.
