John H. DuPage, 88, of Pekin passed away at 11:54 AM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Pekin Hospital. John was born on January 21, 1928 in Tovey, Illinois to August and Angelina (Baccadutre) DuPage. He married Donna Hakes on June 16, 1949 in Pekin. Preceding in death are his parents, one son, Dale DuPage, one great grandson, Tristin Snider and one brother, Louie DuPage. Surviving are: his wife, Donna; one son, John DuPage of Pekin; three daughters, Mary Ann Paulson of Morton, IL, Karen (Richard) Crum of South Carolina and Luann (Pat) Chasco of South Pekin; daughter-in-law, Denise DuPage of East Moline; fifteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Daniel (Sandra) DuPage of Pekin; three sisters, Elizabeth (George) Johnson of Pekin, Lillian (Walter) Earnest of Pekin and Joan (Brad) Brubaker of Canton, IL. John was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WW II in the Philippines. After he returned home he began a lifelong career as a plasterer working out of Local #18, area 12. John was a member of the Roy L. King VFW Post # 1232 and AMVETS Post # 235. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Mike McLeod officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses in care of Donna DuPage P.O. Box 86 South Pekin, IL 61564.
