John Crull

John Crull, 82, of Pekin died at 4:05 pm Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Pekin Hospital. John was born on October 2, 1928 in Morris, IL to James and Clara (Wieburg) Crull. He married Ida Sutton on July 4, 1950 in Pekin, IL. Preceding in death are his parents and seven brothers and sisters. Surviving is: his wife, Ida of Pekin; three sons, Wayne (Dianne) Crull of Knoxville, TN, Rev. Gary (Janet) Crull of Pekin and Rick (Rhonda) Crull of Columbia, MO; one daughter, Donna (Thomas) Faichney of Pekin; five grandchildren Amy Hamm, Jason, Melissa, Ryan and Reed Crull; three great grandchildren, Logan Crull, Brayden Hamm and Tristan Faichney; one brother, David Crull; one sister, Betty Meyers of Rock Island, IL; one half sister, Phyllis Brefeld of Bloomington, IL. John owned and operated Crull and Sons Plumbing and Heating in Illinois and Missouri all his adult life. He was Superintendent of the water and sewer plant for Marquette Heights for 23 years retiring in 1977. He and his wife, Ida operated Ida's Orchard near Coatsville, MO for 14 years. He was a long time member of Laborer's Local 231 in Pekin and Carpenters Local 644 in Pekin for many years. John was a member of the New Covenant Church of God in Bartonville. He was avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and shuffleboard player. He was known as Johnny Appleseed. He had a great sense of humor and was a prankster.
