Joel Ernest Petri

Joel Ernest Petri, 64 of Pekin, passed away at 12:58 pm, Friday, May 10, 2024 at his home. He was born to Ernest N. and Mardell M. (Norman) Petri in Peoria on September 21, 1959. Joel was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by; two sisters, Linda (Joseph) Svec of Chicago and Jill (Philip) Peterson of Cleveland, MN, three nieces, Julia (Craig) Palmer, Amy (Seth) Jacobson and Katie(Darin Denison) Peterson; and his dear friend and neighbor, Barb Fitzanko. Joel had a real passion for electronic devices. He treasured acquiring the latest and greatest items and yet was diligent with his money and kept a precise budget to be sure funds were set aside for his purchases. He was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Joel and his mother were very close, and he dedicated his life to her care, and their friendship until she passed in 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin, IL. A visitation will be immediately prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
