Joe D. Dobbs

Joe D. Dobbs, 62, of Pekin passed away at 2:41 PM, Monday, July 9, 2018 in the Emergency Department at OSF St. Francis Medical in Peoria. Joe was born in Peoria, IL on August 31, 1955 to James H. and Mary (Casey) Dobbs. He married Betty Byard on November 23, 1996 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James M. Dobbs; and step-father, Frank Mayfield. Surviving are: his wife, Betty of Pekin; three sons, Bobby Dobbs of Pekin, James (Sarah) Chaney of South Pekin, Joey Smith of East Peoria; one daughter, Lisa Rhodes of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Jacob, Leah, Remie, Rylee, Veronica, and one due December 18, 2018. Joe was a member of the UAW, Eagles and Royal Knights Club. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting and hunting. He enjoyed feeding birds, rabbits and squirrels. Most of all, he loved being a grandpa. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, July 13, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Jeff Leeman officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Boys & Girls Club of Pekin, 1101 Veerman St., Pekin.
