Joann Vonderheide

JoAnn VonDerHeide, 98, of Pekin, IL passed away at 5:52 PM Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Carle Health Pekin Hospital. JoAnn was born on June 7, 1926 in Pekin to George and Anna Christina Henrika (VanVleuten) Zimmerman. She married James VonDerHeide on September 20, 1946 in Washington DC. He passed away on November 28, 1993. Also preceding in death are her parents, two sons, Ricky VonDerHeide and Vince VonDerHeide, one grandson, Caleb VonDerHeide; one great-grandson, Ezekyl VonDerHeide, and four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are: two sons, Brad (Becky) VonDerHeide of Pekin, IL and Mark (Carole) VonDerHeide of North Pekin, IL; one daughter-in-law, Marcia VonDerHeide of Cleveland, TX; 9 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. JoAnn had worked at Little Star Cleaners and CENTEL. She was a member of Pekin First Nazarene Church. She enjoyed cooking & baking gingerbread cookies for her family. She operated a beauty shop out of her home for many years while raising four boys. She treasured her sons and grandchildren and the time they spent together. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Lloyd Brock officiating. A visitation will be held the night prior on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with an additional hour 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday before the funeral, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin. Memorials may be made in JoAnns name to Pekin First Nazarene Church.
