Joan Hodgson

Joan (Joanne) Hodgson, 92, of Pekin, IL lost her short battle to cancer on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born November 15, 1928 in Huntington, IN as the eldest of four siblings to DeLos and Thelma Fry. Joan enjoyed working at Clevenger Metzler law firm as a legal secretary and cheering on the Fighting Illini. She was also a member and treasurer of Pekin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Joan was an avid golfer and a long-time member of Pekin Country Club. She was preceded in death by her baby sister, Jacqueline, and brother Dean. She is survived by : her husband of 65 years, Gerald Hodgson; her sister Joycelyn Butterfield; son Michael Hodgson (Steve Brown); daughter Julie Hodgson (Chris Yamaya); son Jeffery Hodgson; her beloved grandchildren Kyle and Lea Hodgson; niece Kim Fry; nephew Mark Fry; and niece Cheri Dike (Tim). Joans family would like to thank all the staff at UnityPoint Hospice and UnityPoint Health - Pekin Hospital, Floor 4N for all of their loving and compassionate care. Cremation rites will be accorded. Per Joans request there will be no services. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Joans arrangements. Memorials may be made in Joans memory to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital or to TAPS animal shelter in Pekin.
