Joan M. Buss

Joan M. Buss, 85, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:56 AM Friday, January 22, 2021 at her home. Joan was born on June 25, 1935 in Lockport, IL to John and Catherine (Boughner) Woock. She married Thomas L. Buss Sr. on June 11, 1955. Her parents and one sister, Frances A. Buchanan preceded her in death. Surviving is: her husband, Tom of Pekin; four sons, Thomas L. (Dorothy) Buss Jr. of Green Valley, IL, Timothy G. (Rita) Buss of Pekin, Andrew J. Buss of South Texas and David L. (Lori) Buss of Bartlett, IL; two daughters, Lynn M. Kemp of Harlingen, TX and Laurie (Kevin) Corr of Manito, IL; eleven grandchildren, Sarah Shelley, Eric, Kyle, Alex and Cody Buss, Ryan and Collen Corr, Sarafina Benton, Frank Gianessi, Kristi and Cassie Rauh; four great grandchildren, Enzo Buss, Kelsey Armstrong, Henry and Sydney Benton. Joan had been a receptionist at Illinois Bell in Joliet and for several physicians including Dr. Farrell in Pekin. She last worked for the Pekin Daily Times in sales. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved being with her family and cooking. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM 10:15 AM Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Joans arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Susan B. Komen Foundation.
