Jo Ann Feaster

Jo Ann (Forbes) Feaster, aged 90, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Indiana University Hospital, Bloomington, IN.

She was born on April 3,1935, in Green Valley, IL, to the late Charles and Myrtle (Schmick) Forbes. She married Larry Eugene Feaster on March 3,1956, in Pekin, IL. He passed away on September 8, 1987.

She was a proud resident of Pekin and was a 1954 graduate of Pekin Community High School. She attended beauty school and became a licensed beautician, starting Jo Ann's Kut-n'-Kurl on the front porch of her parent's home on Cooper Street in Pekin. Eventually, it was relocated to South Street when the family moved there in 1968. After her husband Larry passed away in September of 1987, she was employed as a greeter at the Pekin Walmart where she worked for 32 years. She was a "people person" and enjoyed interacting with customers as they came into the store. She retired in 2019, at the age of 84. She enjoyed traveling with her family and camping, gardening, baking cakes and decorating them.

She is survived by her only sister, Janet Sue DeGroot of Nashville, Ml; one daughter, Kathy (Chris) Knapp of Punta Gorda, FL; two sons, Mike (Lori) Feaster of Martinsville, IN, and Randy (Darla) Feaster of Pekin; ten grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren with whom she enjoyed being around.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, IL, with Pastor Chip Herbert officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1:55 p.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
