Jimmy L. Walker

Jimmy L. Walker, 89, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:28 PM Monday, January 29, 2024 at his home. Jimmy was born on August 16, 1934 in Murrayville, IL to Donald and Mable (Custer) Walker. He married Norma Spencer on November 29, 1952 in Manchester, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Zane Walker; and one sister, Mary Ruby. Surviving are: his wife, Norma of Pekin; two sons, Steven L. Walker and Philip K. Walker both of Pekin; one brother, Michael (Carol) Walker of Texas; three grandchildren, Chad M. Walker, Jayme Walker and Jennifer Walker; five great-grandchildren; Shailey, Chance, Kylie, Becca and Jaron; three great-great grandchildren, Willow, Triton and Lucian. Jimmy served in the United States Army. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion William Schaefer Post #44 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 PM, Friday February 2, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. A visitation will be held one hour prior, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team. Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of the Donors Choice.
