Jimmie J. "Jim" Doering, 81, of Pekin, IL passed away at 10:20 PM Thursday, February 11, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Jim was born on December 2, 1939 in Johnston City, IL to Joel and Ruby (Chapman) Doering. He married Glendine Eberhardt on October 20, 1962 in Johnston City, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Doering and Harold Doering. Surviving is: his wife, Glendine of Pekin; five children, Kristy (Thomas) Quick of St. Louis, MO, Kevin (Sonya) Doering of Adair, IL, Kari (Brian) Sturch of Groveland, IL, Kraig (Jenny) Doering of Pekin and Kayse Doering of Eureka, IL; twelve grandchildren, Cayden and Stirling Quick, Devyn (Blake) Denney, Sydney (Chris) Boston, Kalie, Brock and Eryn Sturch, Kristen (Gage) Guppy, Katrina Doering, Ashley, Claire and Charlie Stilling; two great grandchildren, Emerson Rose Denney and Rylan Boston; four sisters, Clara Mae Locascio of Lyle, IL, Areta (Les) Eisenhauer of Johnston City, Marilyn (Jesse) Jeralds of Johnston City and Carol (Ray) Baine of West Frankfort, IL, sister-in-law JoAnn Doering; several nieces and nephews. Jim worked in Publications at Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years retiring in 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pekin and the Peoria Area Woodworkers Club. Memorial Services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Vernon Risner officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM 3:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or Peoria Rescue Mission.
