Jim & Gloria Perfetti

James L. & Gloria J. Perfetti of Pekin and formerly of Tremont, IL have passed away. Gloria, 76 passed at 6:28 PM Friday, January 7, 2022 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. Jim, 78, followed closely behind her at 11:22 AM, Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Reflections Memory Care in Pekin. Jim was born on October 3, 1943 in Pekin, IL to Dominic and Edith (Tinor) Perfetti. Gloria was born on November 27, 1945 in Peoria, IL to Elmer M. and Evelyn V. (Jones) Smith. They were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Green Valley, IL on March 20, 1964. As this beautiful love story was written, they shared their love with one son, Mike (Kathy) Perfetti of Pekin; three daughters, Cristy Perfetti of East Peoria, Dina (Jim) Perfetti Deany of Windsor, CO and Lisa (Sam) Stearns of Normal; eleven grandchildren: Josh Perfetti, Zak Deany, Indigo Deany, Cade Perfetti, Noah Perfetti, Sophia Popejoy, Sydney Popejoy, Jack Stearns, Jakob Stearns, Joe Stearns, Josh Stearns; and one precious great-grandchild, Luca Deany and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Jim is survived by one sister, Cheryl (Dave) Schmidgall. Gloria is survived by one brother, Jim (Pam) Smith; and one sister, Cathy (Bill) Strawbridge. Jim and Gloria also leave behind a cherished dog, Sadie. Jim enjoyed a long career at Caterpillar, Inc. and after staying home to help raise their children, Gloria also had a career at Caterpillar, Inc. They were members of the Tremont United Methodist Church. They treasured all the time spent together with family and friends for holidays, birthdays, camping and vacations. Jim enjoyed being outdoors in nature, fishing and golf. Gloria was a talented crafter, with many hobbies including painting, cross-stitch and sewing. Jim and Glorias retirement travels were a wonderful excuse to spend all their time together. Above all, their 57 years of marriage was focused on faith, family and friends. They will be dearly missed by all who loved them. A Memorial Service for Jim and Gloria will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Tremont United Methodist Church 112 W Pearl St, Tremont, IL. Burial will follow in Green Valley Cemetery.
