Jerry L. Schumm

Jerry L. Schumm, 74, of Creve Coeur, IL passed away at 4:45 AM, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at his home.

Jerry was born on July 26, 1951 in Bloomington, IL to Howard and Alice (Welty) Schumm. He married Vickie Childs in Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Maverick Ivey.

Surviving is his wife, Vickie of Creve Coeur; one son, Ronald (Nicole) Schumm of East Peoria, IL; one step-son Michael Ivey of Buckley, WA; two step-daughters, Tracie Ivey of Pekin, Christy (John) Farris of Marquette Heights; three grandchildren, Christopher Ivey, Jade (Austin) Curry and Mikenly Farris; one great granddaughter, Laylah Spradley; one brother, Steve (Lora) Schumm of Colfax, IL.

Jerry was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Army. He worked at Caterpillar for fifty years.

Jerry was of the Baptist faith. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved riding his motorcycle, camping in the outdoors, fishing whenever he had the chance, cutting wood, and spending quiet moments feeding the birds.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior, starting at 12:00. Inurnment will take place at 1:00 PM Friday, March 13th at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin.
