Jerry Alan Cox

Jerry A. Cox, 67 of Pekin passed away at 10:23 am, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born to Ivan T. and Gwedolyne (Swygard) Cox in Rushville, IL on August 16, 1955. He married Sharon Hackney on May 21, 2005 in Pekin, IL. Jerry was preceded in death by; his parents; two sisters, Joyce Petri and Betty Roberts; and two brothers, John Cox and Terry Cox. He is survived by; his wife Sharon, one daughter, five grandchildren, and his new puppy Blue Dallas. Jerry worked for the State of Illinois, Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. He was of the Methodist faith. Jerry was a big fan of Elvis Presley, St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching all sports, fishing, singing, attending car shows and dancing. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Gardens, 18119 IL-9, Pekin, IL with Deacon Mark Wilder officiating.
