Jeff Leeman

Jeffrey J Leeman, 60, of Manito, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

Jeff was born on November 17,1964 in Paris, IL to Jessie Leeman and Naomi (Dorothy) Leeman. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Jeff married Karen Sue Laird on July 20, 1985. They were married 40 years. Surviving is his spouse; his father Jessie J Leeman, a son Joseph J (Nadia) Leeman, a daughter Bethany Grace Nelson, a son Benjamin David Leeman, Krystal Kirton, two sisters Lisa Jo (Don) McCoy and Stacie Denise Leeman. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Abram Nelson, Moses Nelson, Adelyn Nelson, Lenora Leeman, Gabrielle Leeman, and Mordecai Leeman.

Jeff was a pastor for several years. An eloquent speaker, he enjoyed helping people grow in their faith. Later Jeff worked as a bereavement counselor helping families cope with the loss of their loved one.

Jeff enjoyed being with family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to tease, and also never missed an opportunity to instruct. Jeff loved helping people, especially the older people in his community.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin.
