Jean Elgin

Jean Elgin, 73, of Bartonville, IL passed away at 1:25 AM Wednesday, July 06, 2011 at Bel-wood Nursing Home. Jean was born on November 15, 1937 in Pekin to John and Jennie (Schaller) Isenburg. She married Charles E. Elgin Jr. on May 3, 1958. He died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Daniel James Elgin on July 7, 1989. Surviving is: one son, Tom (Lisa) Elgin of Peoria; one daughter, Betty Fitch of Bartonville; two grandsons, Joshua M. Berardi of Peoria and Steven Altpeter Day of Prentiss, WI; one brother, George B. Isenburg of Pekin; sister, Vada Watson of Knoxville, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Jean was a beautician for Reents Beauty Salon for many years. She also worked as an Aid for Home Health Care. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was a founding member of the Radnor Rod and Gun Club in Dunlap. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rev. Hank Herring will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
