Janie Rosas, 86, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:30 PM Monday, January 13, 2014 at her home. Janie was born on November 17, 1927 in Amarillo, TX to Bernardino and Francisa (Silva) Preciado. She married Manuel Rosas on November 17, 1946 in Amarillo, TX. He passed away on January 11, 1991. Also preceding death are her parents, seven brothers and two sisters. Surviving is: one daughter, Carol (Vaughn) Bottomley of Pekin; two sons, Jerry (Debra) Rosas and Randy (Monica Leaver) Rosas both of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Ashenbremer, Valerie Klein Beth Pullen, Jerry Rosas Jr., Candace Campolla, Alisa, Tom and Kimberly Rosas; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert (Ramona) Preciado. Janie was the secretary for Manuel Rosas & Sons Masonry Construction for many years. She then worked at the Pekin Unemployment Office. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She volunteered as a Spanish Instructor at the Miller Senior Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM Monday at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin . Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
