Janice Kay Sales

Janice Kay Sales, 72 of Marquette Heights passed away at 8:20 am, Thursday, July 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born to William C. & Willie Evelyn (Hanson) Roberson in Lawrenceburg, TN on January 16, 1951. She married Edwin Sales in Peoria on July 5, 1969; they treasured their 54 wonderful years of marriage together. Janice was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by; her husband, Ed; one son, Tony (Angie) Sales of Pekin; one daughter, Holly (Bill) Thompson of Marquette Heights; four grandchildren, Justin Sales, Allie Tiller, Sydney Sales and Alex Thompson; and one brother, William A. Roberson of East Peoria. Janice retired after 27 years working at Pekin Insurance. Early in her career, she was licensed in Real Estate and Insurance. Janice and Ed loved to travel, with Rome, Cruising and seeing the country in their RV as some of her best memories. She made friends everywhere she went and brought back stories of the people she met as they traveled. She enjoyed their annual trips to Destin, FL immensely, but truth be told, anywhere with a beach was her favorite. She could spend hours collecting new shells on a beach. She loved roses and was talented at stain glass creations. She was very talented at so many things, but her heart was never far from her grandchildren. She treasured, nurtured and doted over her family with a love they will never forget. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Friday, August 4, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded.
