Janet L. Tennell

Janet L. Tennell, 77 of Pekin, passed away at 9:44 am, Sunday, March 31, 2019 on her 77th birthday at Grandview Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Peoria. She was born March 31, 1942 to Edward R. and Pearl (Drockelman) Hieser in Pekin. She married James Saal in Pekin on August 18, 1962. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1992. She then married Gary Tennell on April 21, 1996. He passed on July 1, 2006. Also preceding her in death are her parents; two brothers, Edward("Bud") and Mike Hieser; one sister, Carol Lohrenz. She is survived by two daughters, Kim (Mark) Duffield of Fairview, IL, and Tracy (David) Misselhorn of Washington, IL; one son, Doug (Patty) Saal of Normal, IL; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Janet was a member of St Paul's United Church of Christ in Pekin. She enjoyed going out with her classmates once a month for Class of 60 Gal's Night Out. She was a strong supporter of the Relay for Life and the Susan G Komen Race For The Cure. She enjoyed counted cross stitch, knitting, walking, and traveling. Private services were held with burial at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 614 W Glen Ave, Peoria, IL 61614.
