James Shea

James 'Jim' P. Shea 55 of Pekin passed away at 6:34 am Thursday, September 4, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Jim was born May 31, 1959 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Mike and Sharron (Mannel) Shea.He married Teri May March 19, 1977 in Pekin, she survives. Also surviving are his parents, Mike and Sharron of Pekin; three daughters, Shana (Daniel) Brown of Pekin, Sheila Shea of South Pekin, Stephanie (Adam) Baker of Pekin; four brothers, John Shea of Pekin, Tony Shea of North Pekin, Todd Shea and Terry (Teresa Rose) Shea of Pekin; one sister, Jane (Jack) Morris of Pekin, seven grandchildren; Shealyn Blasdel, Kylie Baker, Brooklyn Baker, Gavin Blasdel, Darrion Blasdel, Kynlee Baker and Bentley Baker;and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Logan Baker. Jim was a machinist for Rohn Industries for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and baking with his grandchildren.Jim was a very good wrestler and football player in high school.He coached various sports teams. Jim was an all-around handyman known as 'Mr. Fix It'.He was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Funeral service will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with visitation 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm prior to service.Rev. Mike Roberts will officiate.Cremation will be accorded after services with burial in Glendale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Jim's family to help with funeral expenses.
