James A. Gilmore

James A. Gilmore, 92, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:48 AM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin. Jim was born on February 6, 1928 in Manito, IL to Harold and Letha (Schenert) Gilmore. He married Dolores Frigard on August 7, 1949. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Madelyn Meyer and Jane Guengrich, brothers, John Gilmore and H. Lawrence Gilmore and son-n-law, E. John Baldes III. Surviving is: his wife, Dolores of Pekin; two daughters, Gail (Robert) Meyer of Hanna City, IL and Gwen (Steve) von Seeger of Rancho Murieta, CA; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; favorite cat, Cali. Jim was the owner of Rosentreater Painting & Decorating in Peoria. He retired in 1990. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and hiking. He also loved to dance and was an avid Cub fan. Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 4, 2021 at St. Paul United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Forrest Krummel Jr. officiating. Visitation will 9:30 AM 10-:30 AM before the service. Inurnment will follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Jims arrangements.
