James Allen Gerber

James "Jim" A. Gerber, 77, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:40 PM Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Unity Point Health Pekin. Jim was born March 31, 1944 in Huntsville, TX to Bertram and Mary Jane (Sylvester) Gerber. He married Nadine Masters on February 3, 1973. She passed away on July 9, 2002. Also preceding in death are his parents, his twin brother, Gerald and sister, Kathy Garner. Surviving is: one son, David J. Gerber of Pekin and his mother, Lucy A. Anderson of Peoria; two sisters, Barbara (David) Jones of Atlanta, GA and Margaret "Peggy" (Kent) Schoneman of Kansas City, KS; three nieces and one nephew. Jim was veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a vice president at Newman & Ullman for over 30 years and also worked at Cook Fast Tax for over 15 years. He really enjoyed spending time on the lake and feeding his Squirrels. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 12, 2021 at War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin with military honors provided the United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Jims arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
