James T. Fisher

Pekin - James T. Fisher Sr., 71 of Pekin, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at 6:18 pm, Thursday, April 20, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born to Robert and Louise (Lindsey) Fisher on July 14, 1945 in Cherokee, AL. He married Sharon Just on December 27, 1964 at Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandchild, Eric Henderson He is survived by his wife, Sharon; three daughters, Kim (Bill) Wheat of Topeka, IL., Staci Turner, of Quincy, IL., Jenny (Billy) Brewster of Bristol, TN.; one son, James Jr. (Nikki) Fisher of Bristol, TN.; Nine grandchildren, Jeff Henderson, Adrian Turner, Mark Turner, Krystle (Jessee) Thomas, Jessica Hilst, Cortney Hilst, Andrew Fisher, Drake Fisher and Jillian Fisher; Three step-grandchildren, Chris (Annie) Wheat, Troy (Jen) Wheat, and Trisha Miller; and 10 great grandchildren. Jim was a 1963 graduate of Pekin High School. He joined the Air Force in 1963. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 34 years and was a member of Local 974. He also worked part time at Morton Auto Auction. He was a loving husband who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, NASCAR, fishing, hunting and camping. Please join his family and friends for a visitation at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, from 10-12 pm on Monday, April 24, 2017. Jim's funeral service will be immediately following at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Leeman officiating. Interment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens with Military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Memorial contributions may be made to Pekin JFL, Pekin Union Mission, or Emmanuel Community Church in Pekin.
