Jack L. Westervelt

Jack L. Westervelt, 85, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:48 PM Friday, February 5, 2021 at Hopedale Medical Complex. Jack was born on July 31, 1935 in Pekin to Henry and Leona (Murphy) Westervelt. He married Karen Lohnes on July 22, 1962 in Pekin. Preceding in death are his parents and one sister, Kay Hayes. Surviving is: his wife, Karen of Pekin; the son he never had Kevin (Janet) VanDyke of Green Valley; two grandchildren, Kelsey (Reese) Park and Jacy VanDyke; one brother, Terry (Jean) Westervelt of Sarasota, FL; three nieces, Kim (Jeff Dickson) Guthrie, Shelly (Robert) McMahon and Susan (Roger) King; one nephew, Scott Hayes; many great nieces and nephews. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army. He owned Tri County Distributing for 40 years retiring in 2005. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Randy Justus officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Guidelines concerning social distancing and masks will be followed. Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery near South Pekin. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
