Jack G. Mccarty

Jack G. McCarty, 84, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 9:17 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Jack was born on August 24, 1932 in Pekin, IL to Victor and Sara (Bohlander) McCarty. He married Mary Williams on October 29, 1957 Los Angeles, CA. She passed away November 23, 2013. Also preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Harold McCarty. Surviving are: two daughters, Carolyn (John C.) LaReau of East Peoria and Denise (Steve) Tumilty of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Michael J. LaReau of East Peoria, Michael C. (Laura) Roth of Lawrence, KS, Ryan J. (Jessica) LaReau of Peoria, Michelle L. Davies of Rolla, MO, Starsha C. Richards of Mackinaw, Trista J. (Justin) Miller of Arlington Heights, IL and Tiffany S. (Tom) Miller of Tremont, IL; eight great grandchildren, Breckyn M. and Asher M. Roth of Lawrence, KS, Carter and Castynn Richards of Mackinaw, Rylie Rose LaReau of Peoria, Charlotte and Roy Miller of Arlington Heights, IL and Thomas Miller Jr. of Tremont, IL.; one brother, Dale (Melba) McCarty of Pekin. Jack was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army. He was an iron worker for Local # 112 for 34 years. He and his wife owned and operated many local small business', including Seven Acres in Tremont, and three business, Pekin Liquor, Cole's Open Hearth and Courtyard Bar & Grill, all located in downtown Pekin. He was a member of the Roy L. King V.F.W. Post 1232 in Pekin. He was a former member of the Pekin Country Club and Sunset Hills Golf Club. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2017 at Fondulac Cemetery with Pastor Dwight Winnett officiating. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Veterans Helping Disabled Veterans Foundation.
