Jack A. Lehman

Jack A. Lehman, 75, of Pekin, IL passed away at 4:03 AM Thursday, March 19, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born on November 11, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Jack was the son of Theodore and Bessie (Rae) Lehman. On June 13, 1992, he married the love of his life, Sue Nordwahl, in Palos Heights, Illinois. Together, they built a life centered on devotion, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss him: his devoted wife, Sue of Pekin; his sons, Anthony Torres of Chicago, Illinois, Andrew Torres of Brooklyn, New York; his daughter, Abigail (Ryan) Prouty of Marquette Heights, Illinois; and his cherished grandchildren, Catalina and Victor Prouty, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, Theodore (Cheryl) Lehman of Pinehurst, North Carolina; his sisters, Sharon (Dave) Lange of Winona Lake, Indiana, and Deborah (Jake) Mastny of Orland Park, Illinois; along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Jack was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the United States Army.

A man of dedication and integrity, Jack served the State of Illinois as a special agent with the Department of Revenue, where his work reflected his strong sense of duty and fairness. He also worked security for the Chicago Bears, a role that perfectly combined his professional discipline with his lifelong passion for sports.

Jack was a faithful member of Pekin First Methodist Church and a proud Chicago sports fan. He rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Bears, Cubs, and White Sox, and he found great joy in sharing those moments with family and friends.

Above all, Jack treasured time spent with those he loved. Whether surrounded by family, enjoying the companionship of his dogs, or sharing stories and laughter, he lived life with energy and heart. Known for his quick pace and lively spirit, Jack was truly “always in a rush,” yet he never failed to make time for the people who mattered most.

Jack will be remembered for his warmth, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will live on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
