Ivan Owen Patten

Ivan O. Patten, 83, of Pekin passed away at 5:40 pm Friday, October 3, 2008 in Manor Care at Riverview in East Peoria, IL. Ivan was born January 19, 1925 in Waukegan, IL to Nathan A. and Ethel E. (Wasion) Patten. Surviving are: one son, Daniel (and Jackie) Patten of East Peoria, IL; one daughter, Rebecca (and Darin) Smith of Galesburg, IL; five grandchildren, Sayla, Christopher, Jayme, Elyssa and Andrew; two great grandchildren, Brandon and Miranda; two brothers, Richard Patten of Memphis, MO and Dale Patten of Broken Arrow, OK; three sisters, Irene Hohnstein of Laguna Beach, CA, Betty Heim of Manito, IL and Marilyn Byard of Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by one grandchild and eight brothers and sisters. Ivan was a janitor for East Peoria School District # 309 for twenty years retiring in 1990. He was a United States Navy veteran of WWII. Ivan loved music especially playing the steel guitar.
