Irvin S. Wyss

Irvin S. 'Red' Wyss, 91, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:30 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Red was born on June 6, 1925 in Mackinaw, IL to Irvin Frederick and Lois (Shonk) Wyss. He married Imogene Williamson on June 23, 1946 in Pekin. She passed away on July 22, 2007. Also preceding in death are his parents, two sisters and one brother. Surviving are: three sons, John (Dana) Wyss of Wisconsin, Don (Vicky) Wyss of Manito, IL and Keith (Jami) Wyss of Pekin; two daughters, Jean (Doug) Grieser of Middleton, IL and Karen Wyss of Pekin; ten grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister, Shirley (Fred) Beshears of Springfield, IL. Red was a driver for Sinn Oil Company, Grimm Oil Company and Cady Oil Company. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Green Valley. He enjoyed gardening and watching wrestling. He was an avid Cub fan. Cremation has been accorded with inurnment at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
