Irene E. Hundt

Irene Hundt, 91, of Pekin, IL formerly of St. Louis, MO passed away at 11:05 am Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Irene was born on August 18, 1917 near Pekin to John W. and Carrie A. (Wineburner) Hundt. Preceding in death are her parents, one brother, Ralph Hundt and one niece, JoAnn McCloud. Surviving are: three sisters, Hazel M. Nichols of Pekin, Merla (Richard) McCloud of Pekin and: Marilou (Bob) Smith of Dekalb, IL; four nieces, Barbara (Steven) Johnson, Jana (David) Novak, Lara Smith and Kelly (Bradley) Brown; four nephews, Tracy, Kevin, Craig(Angelia) and Kyle Smith; six great nephews, six great nieces, one great great niece and one great great nephew. Irene worked as a book keeper and office manager, her entire career, for Chris Hoerr and Son in Peoria, Barnes Hospital, Hardy Salt Co. and West Graphics all of St. Louis, MO. She lived in St. Louis for forty years and moved back to Pekin in 2000. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pekin. She was a member and past president of Delphi International. She loved to shop, especially for shoes, hats, and jewelry.
