Inez M. Hicks

Inez Marie Hicks passed away in Pekin, Illinois on July 15, 2014 at the age of 95.She was born in Speer, Stark County, Illinois.She married John R. Hicks (Sr.) of Olney, Illinois in 1939 in Iowa.She had two children, John (Jr.) in 1943 and Karen in 1949. She is survived by her son John (Sharon) of Bakersfield, California; daughter Karen Balske of Fresno, California; sisters Lois Vogelsang , Virginia Riley (Lester), Helen Hundemer, Betty Johnson, Barbara Pfanz (Jack), all of Pekin; sister-in-law Lila Walbert of Herndon, Virginia; grandson Larry Barnes (Jennifer) of Bakersfield, granddaughters Michelle Bronson (Jimmy) andDaniella Cain (Jeff) both of Fresno; grandson David Hicks (Alison) of San Jose, California; andnine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Inez was preceded in death by her husband John; parents Ollie Mae and Henry Walbert; sister Irene Walbert;brother-in-law Kenneth Johnson;brother Everett Walbert;son-in-law Ron Balske;sister and brother-in-law Lucile and Dean Berry; brother-in-law Robert Vogelsang. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, July 21, 2014 at Glendale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mark Friday officiating. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peoria Rescue Mission. .
