Herman Garman

Herman Garman, 84, of 63 Grove Place Pekin passed away at 8:30 am on Friday, June 15, 2007 at Pekin Manor. Herman was born in Pekin on May 13, 1923 to Herman A. and Lucinda Lohnes Garman. He married Doris E. Cullinan on January 25, 1947 in Delavan.She survives. Also surviving are four sons; Lee (Billie) Garman of Manito, Richard (Anna) Garman, of Pekin, Roger (Debbie) Garman of Glasford, Kevin (Karen) Garman of Pekin; two daughters, Linda Raney of Portland OR, and Gayle (Gary) Garman of Eureka, CA; one sister, Mae Lawson of Pekin, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Herman was preceded in death by; three brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter. Herman was a farmer for many years in the Pekin and Green Valley areas.He was a WWII veteran receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star in 1945.He was a member of the William Schaefer Post #44 American Legion, Delavan VFW, B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 1271, Club 55 Bowling League and the Tazewell County Farm Bureau.Herman enjoyed hunting, bowling, fishing and playing cards.He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
