Helen Edenburn

March 1, 1942 — December 11, 2024

Helen Edenburn (Huang Shi-Tai), 82, of Pekin, passed away on December 11, 2024 peacefully with family by her side. She was the beloved mother of Lisa (Tony) Frank of Naperville, IL and Eric (Jen) Edenburn of Wheaton, IL; proud "Amah" (grandmother) of Isaac, Caleb, Brianna, Hannah, Madelyn, and Ethan; older sister to Huang Ming-Sheng and Huang Shu-Ying, and younger sister of Huang Liang-Tze, loving aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews, all of Taiwan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Huang Chun-Chong and Chien Yu-Yeh, and older brother, Huang Ming-Tsong, of Taiwan. Helen immigrated to the U.S. in 1966 from Taiwan. Her career as a Cosmetologist continued for over 50 years. As a beautician, she cared for her customers and their families beyond her job. With her visionary mindset, she would regularly encourage her grandchildren to pursue opportunities for growth. This future outlook also motivated her to build a real estate business. She would teach herself new skills and loved to learn and experience life with vigor and energy. Her love of travel took her to many places near and far that fueled her zest for life, deepening her bonds with friends and family in the process. Famously known as a great cook, she enjoyed hosting and making people happy with delicious food and conversation. A seat at her table meant being captivated by her entertaining stories. You are invited to a visitation to celebrate Helen at Henderson Funeral Home, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin, on Saturday, December 21st, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Cremation was held privately. In lieu of flowers and keeping with what was important to Helen, she would have appreciated knowing that you will gather with your family and friends sharing a hospitable meal with lively stories.
