Hazel B. Hogue

Hazel B. Hogue, 90, of 1321 S. 14th St. passed away at 6:20 pm Monday, January 22, 2006 at Hopedale Nursing Home. Hazel was born July 13, 1916 in Allentown, IL to John B. and Nina Austin Thomas.She married Glenn Hogue November 13, 1935 in Paxton, IL.He survives. She is also survived by one niece, several nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Hogue Jr. Hazel graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1934.She was employed at Sommer Brothers Seed Company as a Bookkeeper, retiring July, 1979 after 26 years of service. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church in Pekin where she taught Sunday School for 28 years. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Leesburg FL. She was a former member of International Flying Farmers where she was their newsletter Editor for Illinois and Indiana for 14 years.Hazel was named Woman of the year in 1974 by the Illinois Flying Farmers.
