Harry J. Williams

Harry J. Williams, 87, of Pekin, IL died at 5:00 pm Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Harry was born on October 24, 1923 in Pekin, IL to Harry W. and Elizabeth (Seelye)Williams. He married Herrmine G. Groen on June 16, 1946 in Galesburg, IL. Preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Kenneth Williams. Surviving are: his wife, Herrmine of Pekin; one niece, Melissa (Tim) Pletkovich of Peoria; one sister-in-law, Carol Williams of Pekin; and several cousins. Harry was a line inspector for Caterpillar, Inc. for 43 years retiring in June 1986. He was a member of Second Reformed Church in Pekin where he sang in the church choir for many years. Harry was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and three of his favorites were Stan Musial, Terry Moore and Harry Carey. He enjoyed fishing with his brother and family.
