Harold C. Moehring

Harold C. Moehring, 97 of Hopedale passed away at 1:35 am, Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Hopedale Nursing Home. Harold was born August 30, 1916 in Manito Township to John and Augusta (Handke) Moehring.He married Alnora 'Dolly' Vogel March 14, 1937 she passed in 1993.He later married Florene Warner on April 9, 1994 she passed in 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Augusta; one son, Gary and two brothers, Edward and Ernest. Harold is survived by two sons, Judge Galyn (Carolyn) Moehring of Rockford, IL and Randall Moehring of Minneapolis, MN; daughter-in-law, Brenda Moehring of Kewanee; sister,Margaruite Frye of Hopedale; nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Harold was a farmer near Delavan and Kewanee.He enjoyed fishing at their family cabin in Northern MN. Harold was a Farm Bureau member in Tazewell, Henry and Logan Counties. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manito.He served as a board member for the Illinois Central District L.C.M.S.He also was a charter member of Christ Lutheran in Delavan and was a District Officer for Lutheran Laymens League. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manito.Rev. Gene Haug will officiate.There will be no visitation.Burial will be in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Manito. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin is assisting Harold's family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manito.
