Harold G. Baker, 84, of Pekin, died at 9:39 am Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Pekin Hospital. Harold was born April 29, 1923, in Green Valley to Lorin R. and Emma L. Friedrich Baker. He married Rosalie M. Fischer on August 6, 1950 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in rural Glasford, IL. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Diane M. (Len) LaLone of Pekin and Linda M. Baker of Morton, IL. He graduated from Green Valley High School in 1941. Harold worked at the former RG LeTourneau Inc.plant in Peoria and farmed in the Green Valley area. He also drove a school bus for the Green Valley School District. He later worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural letter carrier for over 28 years, retiring March 1, 1992. He was a member of the Tazewell County Farm Bureau, the Illinois Rural Letter Carrier Association and the National Rural Letter Carrier Association. He played in the church dartball league for over 48 years. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening.
