Harless "Sonny" H. Copeland

Harless “Sonny” H. Copeland, 82, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:05 AM Friday, June 19, 2026 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.

Sonny was born on June 22, 1943 in Henagar, AL to Horace and Flora (Oliver) Copeland. He married Janice Anderson on October 22, 1960.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Deborah K. Curtis.

Surviving are: his wife, Jan of Pekin; one daughter, Deanna Carr of Chapel Hill, NC; three grandchildren, Zac Curtis, Kevin Carr and Lindsay Carr; one son-in-law, Todd Curtis of Bloomington, IL; one brother, Roger Copeland of Orange City, FL and one sister, Nila Faye Siltman of Pekin; and fury companion, Missy.

Sonny worked in construction for C. Iber & Son and Williams Brothers for 45 years retiring in 2009. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and was very handy.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin with Rev. Kurt Copeland officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service starting at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
