Harlan "Dale" D. Olson

Harlan 'Dale' Olson, 70, of Tremont, formerly of Emden, passed away at 3:16 pm, Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home. Dale was born December 3, 1945 in Pekin to Harlan and Mary (Whittaker) Olson.He married Carol Fein May 30, 1970 in Emden. He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Tracy (Stacy) Olson of Hartsburg, Justin (Andrea) Olson of Springfield; daughter, Dana Riess of Chicago; one brother, Larry (Beth) Olson of Lincoln; one sister, Marla Lewis of Lincoln; nine grandchildren;four great grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kevin. Dale was a maintenance mechanic technician for Caterpillar retiring in 2001 after 38 years of service.After retiring he was an instructor for Illinois Central College. He was an avid reader and loved to travel with his family. He treasured spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed their sporting activities. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin.Private burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Emden.
