H. Kenneth "Ken" Roberts

H. Kenneth 'Ken' Roberts, 67, of Marquette Heights, IL passed away at 1:53 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the emergency room at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria. Ken was born on January 19, 1947 to Herbert A. and Louise (Dalton) Roberts. He married Patsy A. Jones on July 8, 1967 in Reidsville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is: his wife, Pat of Marquette Heights; one son, Scott (Ricky Donsbach) Roberts of Marquette Heights; one brother, Benny (Susan) Roberts of Greensboro, North Carolina. Ken was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He worked from 1972 -2003 as an underwriter for Great Central Insurance, Pekin Insurance, Northwestern National Insurance and as an agent for Sentry Insurance. He also worked at Caterpillar in 2008 and was currently working for Royal Publishing in Peoria. Ken was a founding member and Vice-President of the Marquette Heights Men's Club. He was an avid softball player and for many years was in charge of the Sunday Softball League in Marquette Heights. Memorial services will be at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. in Pekin with Rev. Jeff Stark officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM on Wednesday before services. Burial will be at a later date in Reidsville, NC. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Heart Association.
