Gwendolyn V. Broombaugh

Gwendolyn V. Broombaugh, 85, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:37 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Gwen was born on January 12, 1933 in Pope County to Ralph F. and Barbara O. (Belford) Gullett. She married Marvin K. Broombaugh on July 2, 1955. He died on May 18, 1974. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Gladys Lambrich and Geraldine Gerhardt; two brothers, Glenn and Gerald Gullett and three great grandchildren. Surviving are: three sons, Dennis (Melanie) Broombaugh of Pekin, Garry (Kimberly) Broombaugh of East Peoria and Charles (Pamela) Broombaugh of Pfafftown, NC; two daughters, Jacqueline Brown of Ashland, OR and Brenda (Michael) Butler of Franklin, IL; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Gullett of East Peoria; one sister, Genola Jones of Flint,MI; one sister-n-law, Barb Gullett of Congerville, IL; special niece, Sue Becher of East Peoria, IL. Gwen was a member of First Christian Church and the American League Auxiliary. She worked in the Floral Department at Kroger's for 18 years, retiring January 27, 2000. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Rev. Jeff Leeman officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, November 19th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
