Guido Guerra

Guido Guerra, 90, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:40 AM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Hopedale Nursing Home. Guido was born on June 7, 1925 in the Republic of San Marino to Lazzaro and Maria (Cappichioni) Guerra. He married Ines Bevitori on February 5, 1951 in San Marino. He was preceded by his parents, one brother and four sisters. Surviving are: his wife, Ines of Pekin; two sons, Maurie (Connie) Guerra of Pekin and John Guerra of Campbell, CA; two daughters, Maria Pia (Tim) Layne and Anna Lisa (David) Fisher both of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren, Leanna (John) Brynes, Nonnie (Bud) Sous, James (Stacey) Guerra, Mike (Deanna) Guerra, Jesse Guerra, Morgan Coggins, Jacob (Kellie Stievow) Coggins, Larry (Dr. Carrie Sherwood) Coggins, Clint (Alyssa Fisher) Coggins, T.J. Layne, Sean Layne, Nick Layne, Allie Fisher, Danie (Kyle Kocher) Fisher and twelve great grandchildren. Guido was employed at Cornick Concrete and Corn Products Company/ Pekin Energy. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin and Knights of Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Delavan with Monsignor Timothy Nolan officiating. The recitation of the Rosary will be at 12:30 PM Sunday with visitation from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School.
