Grace Lenore Ringwald

Grace L. Ringwald, 89, of Minier and formerly of Pekin passed away at 9:35 AM Thursday, October 09, 2014 at Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale, IL. Grace was born March 28, 1925 in Minier, IL to Edward and Truda (Pleines) Glaser Jr. She married Walter C. Ringwald Jr. on December 16, 1950. He passed away July 24, 1973 in St. Louis, MO. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Eric Ringwald, one brother, Louis Glaser. Surviving are: two daughters, Ann (Paul) White of Minier, IL and Rebecca Ringwald of Pensacola, FL; two grandchildren, Emily and Steven White; two great grandchildren. Grace was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Minier and a former member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship at St. John's and the JOY Circle at St. Paul's. She was a former member of AAUW and Pekin Women's Club. She was a teacher for District 108 in Pekin retiring in 1954. She received her Master's Degree from Western Illinois University and Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University. Memorial services will be at 6:30 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Minier with Rev. Dwight Borden officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Tuesday, Oct 21 at the church. Cremation will be accorded with burial at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ in Minier, IL or to Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton, IL.
