Glenn E. Roberts, 67, of Marquette Heights, IL at 4:25 P.M. on Sunday, October 18, 2015 died in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital. Glenn was born June 28, 1948 in Sulligent, Alabama to Hubert and Azilee (McClendon) Roberts.He married Marsha Morris on February 14, 1970 in East Peoria, IL.Marsha (Boo) was the love of his life and married for 45 years. He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are:his wife, Marsha of Marquette Heights, two daughters, Melanie (Bradley) Curry of Plainfield; Stacie (David) Moeller of Normal; one son Scott Roberts of Marquette Heights; seven grandchildren, Austin and Shelby Curry (Plainfield), Magnus, Bronson, and Ayla Moeller (Normal), and Caitlin and Scottie Roberts (Pekin). Three sisters, Patricia (Robert) Springman (Pekin), Charlotte (Tom) Rausch (Hamburg, PA), Barb (John) Moffitt (Pekin).Special in-laws, Wayne and Shirley Morris (Marquette Heights), Rod and Connie Wamsley (Marquette Heights).Chad (Nephew), Tara, Josie, Sofie Wamsley, Leigh (Niece), Chad, Jaden (Wamsley) and Beaux Mason.Also, he is survived by many other special nieces and nephews. He is retired from Caterpillar after thirty years of service as a machinist.He was a volunteer firefighter in Marquette Heights for twenty years.Currently, he was working as crossing guard for School District 102.He last worked, Friday, October 16, 2015, doing what he loved. Glenn was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee.He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren; especially watching all their sporting events.He never knew a stranger and would always drop everything to help anyone in need. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.He will be missed by many.Glenn was also an Army veteran. Funeral Service will be conducted, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 200 Cole Street, East Peoria, IL.Pastor Kurt Mews will be officiating.Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 5:30 - 7:30 at Henderson Funeral Home, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin, IL 61554.Memorials can be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church 'Bleacher Fund'.
