Glen A. Friend

Glen A. Friend, 62, of Pekin passed away at 3:15 pm Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL. Glen was born June 7, 1946 in Peoria, IL to George and Gladys (Lippert) Friend. He married Brenda Miller on February 26, 1982 in Pekin, IL. Preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Gary. Surviving are: his wife, Brenda of Pekin; one son, Robert Friend of Pekin; one daughter, Amy Friend of Pekin; four brothers,Gordon Friend of East Peoria, Gregg (and Janet) Friend of Morton, Gene (and Mary Sue) of Illinois and Gail (and Donna) Friend of Peoria, IL; three sisters, Geraldine 'Geri' (and Stan) Patterson of Oswego, IL , Gloria Friend of Murphysboro, TN and Georgia (and Ron) Newlin of Albuquerque, NM. Glen was a Vietnam War veteran of the United State Army. He is a member of the VFW. He retired in 1998 from Caterpillar Inc. as a power truck driver.
