Ginger C. Lynn, 62 of Pekin passed away at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 6, 1952 in Rochelle, IL to Wayne and Esther Boyd Silvius.Ginger married Michael Lynn July 21, 1974 in Ashton, IL. Surviving are her parents , her husband, Mike, one daughter, Heather Rutherford of Dunlap, IL; one son, Trevor (Allison) Lynn of Plainfield, IL; one grandson, Kaden Rutherford of Dunlap, IL; two sisters, Vickie (Bryan) Graham of Warrenton, VA and Lynette (Kim) Thompson of Watertown WS. Ginger was preceded in death by one grandson, Keegan Rutherford. Ginger was a graduate of Western Illinois University.After Ginger and Mike graduated from college they traveled to Australia where they taught school from 1975-1977.During their return to the United States, they traveled across the Asian and European Continents. Ginger received her Master's in Library Sciences from the University of Illinois in 1995.She was a Librarian at Pekin Community High School from 1979-2000.Ginger then transferred to Peoria Central High where she was the Librarian from 2000-2012. Ginger was a member of the Cursillo in Christianity of Peoria and the In His Footstep program.She was a very active member of the Cursillo and In His Footsteps Prison mission program at the Federal Correction Institution in Pekin. She also belonged to the Jazzercise in Pekin, the Bunco Babes in Royal Colony Estates and the Peoria High School Retired Teachers Association. Ginger was a member of the Tremont United Methodist church in Tremont where her Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015.Pastor Dan Perry will officiate.Visitation will from 3:00- 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in honor of Ginger to either the Tremont United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or Habitat For Humanity.
