Gilbert J. Plaster

Gilbert J. Plaster, 93, of Morrison, IL formerly of Pekin died at 3:52 am Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Resthave Center in Morrison. Gilbert was born on July 17, 1916 in Peoria, IL to Jefferson Robertson and Sarah Bernice (Watson) Plaster. He married Elizabeth Leta Abby on December 15, 1935 in Lincoln, IL. She died on December 16, 1999. Also preceding in death is one brother, Earnest. Surviving are is: one son, Jeff (Virginia) Plaster of Deerfield, IL; three daughters, Phyllis (David) Burketta of Canton, IL, Libby (LaRue) Foster of Groveland, IL and Susan (Richard) Tegeler of Fenton, IL; ten grandchildren, Eileen and Rachel Plaster, Cathy (Steve) Heissler, Steve (Jeri Lynn) Foster, Kim (Chris) Forner, Jay Horn, Leta Vaughn, Tom (Cathy) Veerman, Sarah (Martin) Kedroski and Beth Smith. Gilbert was an account executive for Mace Advertising in Morton for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin, the Peoria Advertising and Sales Club, former member of the Peoria Rotary Club, American Legion, Moose Lodge and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Lincoln, IL. He was an avid golfer and had two holes in one. He loved to travel, but more than anything he loved his family Gilbert was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy.
