Gerald D. Roach Jr.

Gerald D. Roach Jr. 73 of Pekin passed away at 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 3, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Pekin Hospital. Gerry was born in Pascola, MO on August 2, 1948. His parents were Martin and Mary "Joyce" (Luker) Filarski. He married the love of his life, Lori Lushina on November 25, 2006 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Gerry is survived by; one son, Kyle (Holly) Roach of Pekin; two daughters, Tja (fiance Louis Wierenga) Chiapelli of Hinsdale, IL and Cori (Jeff) Lippert of Washington, IL; four grandchildren, Parker and Prestan Wierenga and Tyler and Kyla Lippert; one sister, Kathy (Dave) Cole of Germantown Hills; and niece, Sarah Light, and nephew Jeff Cole. He served in the United States Marines Corps. Gerry worked in several positions for Caterpillar for 40 years, lucky enough to travel the world with them, retiring in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting, fishing and boating. He was member of the NRA, and enjoyed classic and sports cars. Gerry was a loyal friend, devoted husband and loving family man. As per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
