George W. Fleckenstein

George W. Fleckenstein, 78, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:33 AM Friday, July 18, 2014 at Pekin Manor. George was born on September 25, 1935 in Dillon Township, Tazewell County, Illinois to George and Fannie (Hotferberth) Fleckenstein. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Martha and Clara Fleckenstein. Surviving are special friends, Jimmy and Joyce Longeran of Tremont, IL, Dude and Peg Meisinger of Green Valley, IL and Bob and Lois Lucas of Tremont, IL and Baird Woolsey of Dunlap; and several cousins. George lived and worked on the family farm his whole life until moving to Pekin several years ago. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Green Valley. George loved riding in his red Thunderbird and going to car shows. He enjoyed going on bus tours with Pekin Estates especially to Tanners Orchard. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church (Sand Prairie) with Rev. Kevin Bueltmann officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Dillon Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
