Garnet "Pat" Mason

Garnet 'Pat' Mason, 74, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:25 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his home. Pat was born on April 9, 1941 in Middletown, IL to Andy and Lena (Sheneman) Mason. He married Carol Reiners on February 16, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church in New Holland, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, eleven brothers and sisters. Surviving are: his wife, Carolof Pekin; two sons, Shawn (Connie) Mason and Dan (Leslie) Mason both of Pekin; one daughter, Dana (Scott) Friedrich of Green Valley, IL; seven grandchildren, Dustin (Kelley) Friedrich, Brooke (Michael) Behm, Colton, Danica, Reno, Aaron and Trenten Mason; one great granddaughter, Carly Behm; one brother, Paul (Ellen) Mason of Middletown, IL; one sister, Judy May of Lincoln, IL; many nieces and nephews. Pat and Carol owned and operated Mason Repair and Decorating in Pekin for over thirty-eight years and remolded over 100 homes in the Pekin area. Before that Pat had worked for Caterpillar for ten years. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church near Green Valley, IL. Pat was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved watching their sports activities. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Chris Sansom officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Sunday before the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in New Holland, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pekin Union Mission or the Boys and Girls Club of Pekin.
