Gale Ellen Thomason

Gale E. Thomason, 74, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:29 AM Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria, IL. Gale was born July 21, 1950 in Pekin to Vernon and Lucille R. (Parr) DuPage. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Cindy "DuPage" Gieser. Surviving are: one son, Ronnie (Amanda Welsh) Thomason of Pekin; one daughter, Lori Ellen (Ryan Higginbottom) Baxter of Pekin; five grandchildren, Abbigale Darling, Gabrielle L Darling and Jonathon M. Darling II, Kali and Hannah Thomason; three great grandchildren, NMiylah Danielle Andrea Knight, Braxton Jermaine Hinton and MarKel Stuart Randell; one brother, Vernon C. (Debbie Devine) DuPage of Peoria. Gale was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She earned her nursing degree from Illinois Central College in 1984 and, as a registered nurse, dedicated over 25 years to serving patients in various local hospitals and through compassionate home health care. Gale found joy in nurturing her garden, where she loved planting vibrant flowers, and she had a passion for music and savoring chocolate. Her favorite moments were spent by the ocean, basking in its beauty, and cherishing quality time with her beloved family and grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Gales arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Center for Prevention of Abuse or Leukemia Research Foundation.
